Anemone Cubaris murina
A delicate tropical murina morph with warm peach-and-white coloration reminiscent of a sea anemone.
Overview
Cubaris murina 'Anemone' is a captivating color morph from Southeast Asia, displaying soft peach, coral, and cream tones. Like all C. murina, it requires consistently high humidity and stable warm temperatures. More forgiving than Cubaris sp. exotics, but still needs attentive care to thrive and breed.
Habitat & Setup
Substrate mix: For best results, use Isopod Paradise Organic Substrate specifically formulated to support healthy colonies. If you would rather mix your own, we recommend a blend of 70% organic topsoil, 10% flake soil, 10% milled sphagnum moss, 8% organics(mushroom compost, earthworm castings and leaf litter) and 2% calcium
Hides & decor: Bark tubes and flats, leaf litter layer, moss patches, coco huts, lotus pods. Cuttlebone for calcium source.
Moisture: High gradient moisture — damp substrate 70/30 gradient. Mist weekly .
Diet & Feeding
Like all murina, they benefit from a varied diet with moderate protein. Calcium is critical for the shell and successful molting.

- Leaf litter (magnolia, oak, maple)
- Squash, carrot, sweet potato
- Dried shrimp, fish flakes
- Powder formulas like Isopod Chow, Repashy Morning Wood, Bug Burger, etc.
- Mushroom pieces (occasional)
Feeding frequency: Rotate foods on a weekly basis. Remove leftover food when food begins to mold.
Breeding & Lifecycle
Breeds steadily once established with stable high humidity and warmth. Mature females can produce broods every 1-2 months.
Mancae care: Mancae need consistently high humidity. Ensure fine food particles are always present on the substrate surface.
Colony tips: A stable temperature above 75°F accelerates breeding.
Cubaris murina is one of the most morphologically variable isopod species — the Anemone, Happy Nun, and Papaya morphs are all the same species with dramatically different appearances.
